The Norwich Devils would like to thank the Norse Group for a Grant of £750 from their community fund to help re-develop our Youth and Junior teams.

There is an ever growing interest in the sport in the UK following the successful implementation of regular NFL games in London and in the Norfolk community this interest starts very young. Not only have the Devils traditionally recruited for their adult team from their Youth and Junior ranks, helping with the transition into Adult sport and continuing an active lifestyle, but it also provides the opportunity for children just to participate in a fun and exciting sport. The funds received from the Norse Group will go a long way to helping buy much needed equipment for this to continue into the future.

Project Manager at Norse Care and Running Back, Ben Meen,  (pictured front ) suggested applying for a grant on behalf of the club and the Norwich Devils Committee (pictured back left to right) of Treasurer, Richard Gray, Head Coach, Chris Mills, Chairman, Chris Handley and Secretary, Alan Baxter-Smith immediately suggested seeking funds to help the youth and Junior teams grow.

Upon accepting the funds at a recent team scrimmage Chairman, Chris Handley, remarked, “American Football is played by all ages across the UK. The sustainability of our club and the sport as a whole depends on the youth and Junior teams feeding through to senior sides. With the funding from the Norse Group, we can look forward to introducing our great sport to children across Norwich and Norfolk and providing a fun and safe environment to participate in what is a healthy and highly sociable sport”

The Norwich Devils are currently redeveloping their youth and Junior programs to accommodate the huge surge in demand for the sport in the area. We hope to announce some participation events shortly so keep an eye on our website/Facebook/twitter pages for further developments. See here for more details.

The Devils are always on the lookout for Sponsors and funding opportunities, please check out our sponsorship page here for further information on how you can get involved in supporting the club.

 Go on… Be a Devil!
