It is with great pleasure that the Devils announce their new Senior Team Running Back Coach & Special Team Coordinator, Keith Jacobs, for the 2017 season.
Coach Jacobs brings a wealth of football experience to the Devils having both played and coached since 1987.
Joining the Farnham Knights initially as a DB in 1987 after being convinced to try the sport by his Brother, a starting DB, Keith was quickly changed to a RB after he showed promise at the position. He continued to play at RB and within Special Teams, for 5 years, including the 1989 season where he faced the Devils, until in 1992, due to work commitments taking him abroad, he was forced to retire from playing.
After returning to the UK he settled in Norwich and returned to football when his son joined the Devils youth team in 2013. Following training to become a coach, he was appointed the Devils Youth team Assistant Coach for 2 years until the team folded due to lack of interest.
Accepting the roles Keith remarked, ” I rejoined the Devils for this upcoming season because I had an itch to be involved in football again, I look forward to a successful season and rejoining the league next year.”
Following on from the appointment , the Devils are still looking for additional coaches to join the senior team coaching staff. Particularly Linebacker, Defensive Back and Quarterback coaches.
We welcome any experienced coaches moving from other programs or newcomers to the sport who maybe don’t fancy playing but would like to get involved. Our staff currently consists of ex-international players, fitness instructors and personal trainers… all mad about football! To coach American football in the UK you must be over 18 and hold a minimum of a BAFA Level 1 coaches certificate. Those who are new to the sport need not worry as we can arrange to have you placed on a course as soon as possible and get you on your way.
Currently our Senior team practices on Sunday afternoons. If you’d like to become a coach at the Devils please contact the using our contact form HERE.
